Doctor’s Day 2021 Celebration at BGSIRS

Grade 7 students were asked to create their own story with a moral and a suitable title with the help of clues given by the
teacher.

The competition enabled the students to use their writing skills & the students came up with interesting story write-ups on COVID-19 and the role of doctors during these tough times.

Take a look..

Suppandi and the Precautious of Covid 19

One day Suppandi was out for a walk. Suddenly, a police officer came by and said “Suppandi! Why aren’t you wearing a mask!”

“A mask? Why? I’m not sick.” replied Suppandi.

“Didn’t you know about the COVID 19 pandemic? It’s very unsafe.”

“Oh, no!” replied Suppandi. “What should I do?”

The police officer Ramu said, ‘You need to follow three simple rules

  1. Maintain social distancing
  2. Always wear a mask when you are outside.
  3. Put sanitizer when you touch anything.

Suppandi asked, “Now I know how to stay safe, but how did this virus come?” Officer Ramu replied, “It all started in China and then spread to the rest of the world! India’s first case was in Kerala.”

Suppandi thanked officer Ramu for teaching him how to stay away from Covid-19. He stumbled to his friend Maddy, literally.

Maddy asked, “Why are you so lost in your thoughts?” Suppandi replied, “I am just wondering aren’t doctors going to invent a cure?”

“Why, of course! Even scientists are trying to invent a cure!”, said Maddy.

“It’s a very dire situation. In some countries, they have been successful in making vaccines like Russia’s Sputnik vaccine, etc.”, Maddy added.

Suppandi had thought of a fun way of remembering the rules of safety in COVID. He told his friends about the SMS ruleSocial distancing, Mask, and Sanitizer.

Everyone laughed and thanked Suppandi for the fun way of remembering the rules. A month later, the vaccine came out, Suppandi made sure that everyone got the vaccine.

Moral: Always be aware of the surroundings and take necessary precautions.

We should salute the Covid 19 warriors for risking their lives to save ours.

THE LOST YEAR

Just a normal day where I go and annoy teachers but this was not an ordinary day at milk time Pankaja Ma’am (sorry ma’am if your spelling is not right) announced that we needed to be more careful because there was a disease in China which was spreading.

Me? I was just doing my routine and did not pay any attention to that. This was like a loop. Ma’am always told us this and also to gargle (I did, by the way). But when our final exams were near, I was nervous because I did not learn.  But COVID (I will call him my dream best friend) came and saved me by postponing the exams.

Now I am chilling, watching all kinds of movies on the television. When I saw all of my friends going home, they told me they will come directly for exams. After a while, I went up to see who all were there in the dorm. To my surprise, no one was there except for Karthik and his little brother. So, we planned to go to the computer lab in the school building to watch something on YouTube, or play games. When we reached there, Ma’am told us that we were not allowed to play. Disheartened, we came back to the hostel and went back to watching TV.

We three watched for a long time and got bored. We went to the dorm, took Ludo and played. When suddenly our warden Ma’am said, “Akshath! What are you doing here? You have to go home by bus. Did you take the bus pass?”

Confused and taken by surprise, I told Karthik that I would come back tomorrow and be here until the exams finish. When I reached home, I saw my mother and hugged her tightly. I called Dhyan (my cousin), and we played PS4, watched YouTube, ate food, watched movies, and slept.

This was going for two days and Dhyan went to his home. I was so free my mom wanted to keep me occupied. So she took me to a math teacher who taught cue math.

We visited the teacher and my mom paid money. Two, three or ten days this was going till once ma’am told “Akshath! wear a mask because there the virus could spread easily”. I wittily told replied, “Ma’am, don’t worry! He is my best friend!”

The next day was a holiday and I had planned to go to Dhyan’s house and play with his dogs. Thought this would be the plan for today but my mother wanted to go to the mall. I was sad but when my mom told me I could call Dhyan for one more stay I was elated. I called him and told him to hurry packing and dressing. He was also excited. After a while my mother and I drove to Dhyan’s layout and picked him up. We started driving to the Phoenix mall which was a long drive. In the mall, I got a mask which I liked a lot because it had a print of the avenger symbol.

The next day my mom told me that we were going to Kerala. A sudden plan I thought to call Dhyan but as it was a sudden plan it would be difficult for him. I was sad but we started with our long and tiring journey.

When we reached the next day, a complete nation-wide lockdown was announced. So we were stuck there for 3 months. But I still enjoyed spending precious time with my grandfather. It was going to be 4 months of stay when my mother received a message about resuming school through online classes.  Since I was not carrying my books along with me, mother planned to leave as soon as possible. We left Kerala and came back to Bangalore.

By then, I considered the ‘Dream Best Friend‘ as my worst nightmare. I felt bad when school had started the day before when I reached my apartment in Bangalore.

It meant no proper rest because I came late at night and got up early in the morning. The classes continued online…
