The students and faculty of BGS International Residential School celebrated the 78th anniversary of India’s independence on 15TH August, 2024, Thursday with great enthusiasm and patriotism.

Arrival of Dignitaries: The celebration commenced with the blessing of his holiness Parampoojya Jagadguru Bhairavavaikhya SRI SRI SRI DR BALAGANGADHARANATHA MAHASWAMIJI , in the august presence of his holiness SRI SRI SRI DR NIRMALANANDANATHA MAHASWAMIJI and the managing director of BGS and SJB group of hospitals and institution revered SRI SRI DR PRAKASHNATHA SWAMIJI and distinguished guest and parents. They were warmly welcomed by the school’s administration and escorted to the main venue.

Flag Hoisting: The event’s highlight was the flag-hoisting ceremony, which was performed with great solemnity and reverence. The national flag was raised as the students and guests sang the national anthem, filled with a sense of pride and unity.

March Past: Following the flag hoisting, the students participated in a well-coordinated march past, showcasing their discipline and patriotic spirit. The march was led by the school’s band and four houses AGNI , JAAL , PRITHVI , YAVU each house student proudly displayed their unity and coordination.

Fancy Dress: The students of Class 1 and Class 2 then took to the stage in colorful and creative fancy dress costumes, representing the diverse cultural heritage of India. The event was a visual treat, as the children enthusiastically portrayed historical figures, traditional attires, and iconic symbols of the nation.

Dance: The celebration continued with a vibrant dance performance by the students, who showcased their talent and grace. The rhythmic beats and energetic moves captivated the audience, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of India.

Singing: The program included a melodious singing performance, as the students rendered patriotic songs and hymns, filling the air with the spirit of nationalism and unity.

Rangoli: The school’s assembly area was adorned with intricate and colorful rangoli designs, created by the students. These traditional floor decorations added to the festive ambiance and celebrated the artistic traditions of India depicting patriotism and tricolor theme

Bulletin Board Decoration: The students put great effort into decorating the school’s bulletin boards with informative displays, posters, and artwork related to the Indian independence movement and the country’s history.

Bracelet Making: As a fun and creative activity, the students participated in a bracelet-making workshop, where they crafted vibrant and personalized wristbands as a memento of the occasion.

Coloring: The younger students engaged in a coloring activity, where they expressed their artistic skills by coloring images and illustrations related to Indian independence and national symbols.

Food fusion: The lawns of the schools were occupied by the students of Grade 10 exhibits the different delicacies of various place as part of Independence Day Celebration.

Sports : Inter house basket ball and football matches were played on this day. The celebration concluded with the Valedictory function where the prizes were given away for the winners in each event. The event was a resounding success, instilling a deep sense of patriotism and appreciation for India’s rich heritage among the students. The event’s diverse array of activities and performances showcased the school’s commitment to holistic education and the nurturing of young minds.
