BGS IRS VAIBHAVA, The Annual Sports Meet 2024-25, unfolded as a vibrant celebration of athleticism, unity, and joy on 20 December ‘24. The day began with the divine blessings of His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, and with the divine presence of His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Dr.Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, President, Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust and Revered Sri Sri Dr. Prakashnath Swamiji, Managing Director, BGS & SJB Group of institutions.
The esteemed Guests of Honour Mr. VIJAY BHARADWAJ, Indian Cricketer and Coach & Mr. Harshith . S, International High Jump athlete arrived amid a rousing reception.
A Guard of Honour was presented by the school’s marching contingents, displaying impeccable discipline and synchronization. This was followed by a Floral Tribute, wherein the Chief Guest and dignitaries were warmly welcomed with bouquets, symbolizing gratitude and respect.
The ceremonial Flag Hoisting marked the commencement of the event, with the fluttering flag embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and determination. The Felicitation Ceremony honored the distinguished guests, whose contributions have significantly impacted the school’s legacy.
The grand March Past by students, house captains, and the school band was a spectacle of elegance and unity. The Chief Guest then formally Declared the Sports Meet Open, kindling an atmosphere of excitement. The solemn Oath-Taking Ceremony was administered by the Principal, Ms. Shyamashree Chatterjee to reinforce the values of integrity and fair play among the participants.
The Torch Relay, a symbol of the eternal flame of sportsmanship, was carried with pride by the school’s top achievers in sports, culminating in the lighting of the cauldron.
The Chief Guest’s speech inspired students to embrace challenges and strive for excellence, blending motivation with heartfelt anecdotes.
The spectators were captivated by a spectacular Drill Dance by the students of Grade 1-7, choreographed to perfection, showcasing rhythm, coordination, and energy. The event then transitioned to the highly anticipated Relay Races, where teams exhibited speed and teamwork. The Fun Games, organized for both students and parents, added an element of laughter and camaraderie to the day.
The highlight of the cultural performances was a mesmerizing Finale Dance by the students of Grade 8, joined by the teachers, celebrating the spirit of togetherness. The Prize Distribution Ceremony saw champions being recognized for their outstanding achievements, with thunderous applause filling the air.
The Overall Championship Trophy was awarded to _______ House amidst thunderous applause and cheers from the audience. The students and house captains walked up to the stage beaming with pride and joy. It was a moment of immense elation as they held the trophy high, celebrating their hard work, dedication, and team spirit throughout the year.
Adding a divine touch to the event, Our beloved Swamiji delivered blessing the students and urging them to uphold the values of perseverance and humility. He emphasized the significance of sports in shaping well-rounded individuals, stating that sports not only promote physical fitness but also instil essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Swamiji highlighted how participation in sports fosters a spirit of healthy competition. He encouraged the students to actively engage in sports alongside their academic pursuits, as it is instrumental in building a strong character and achieving balance in life. His insightful message reinforced the idea that sports are a vital component of education, contributing to the holistic development of students.
The event concluded with the Declaration of The Sports Meet Closure, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a deep sense of pride and fulfillment. The Annual Sports Meet was a resounding success, etching unforgettable memories of sportsmanship, teamwork, and joy in the hearts of all present.
