Environment is nature’s invaluable blessing to us. The world celebrates Environment Day on 5th of June every year to remind us about conservation of environment and our planet. World Environment Day 2023 is a reminder that people’s actions on plastic pollution matters.
Its time to retrospect!! Are we doing enough to save our environment?!! Our planet’s alarm is going off, and it is time to wake up and take action!!
Let us remind ourselves that we are ringed to our environment for our survival. Our mother earth and our environment is in danger. We ought to make our planet a better place to live in by working in unison to go green.
Trees are the lungs of our planet. We must plant more trees to save her. We must remember that Earth is not our property, but our liability that we have to hand over to the future generations to experience the bliss we are enjoying. If we have the power to change another planet into Earth, then we definitely have the power to change Earth into Earth.
To bring about this awareness, an enlightening special assembly was organised by 10th graders of BGSIRS on 5 June 2023 on the occasion of world Environment Day. It started with a Shloka to mark our gratitude to the universe. It was followed prayer by Vidhi of grade 10 A. A skit was presented by the students of class 10 A on the theme “Save Our Rivers”.
Saisha Behra of grade 7 mesmerised the audience with a beautiful song on Environment Day. Saanvi of class 7 put up a dance performance that made everyone tap their toes. Vihaan of class 9C recited a poem dedicated to our rivers.
The principal, Mrs. Shyamashree Chatterjee addressed the students highlighting the significance of the day.
The assembly came to a close with children marching across the stage bearing saplings in their hands to mark the significance of the day and to encourage young minds to plant more trees to make our mother planet greener.
Our mother planet is calling us. Let us give her a ear, hold hands and walk together towards a safe and healthy environment.
