Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most-loved festivals in India, is replete with divinity, celebrations, and flamboyance. It is a festival that cuts across all religions, castes, and creeds. Think Ganesh Chaturthi, and the beautiful idol of Lord Ganesh comes to mind – the excitement, the crowds, the aroma of His favourite modaks and chants just fill the air! Lord Ganesh is seen as a God for all. He is regarded as the God of new beginnings, fresh starts, remover of obstacles, and a patron of learning. This 10-day long festival not only celebrates the birthday of Lord Ganesh, but is also a social and community event that brings people together and promotes harmony.

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated at BGSIRS with great pomp and show.  The academic block foyer was fondly and colourfully decorated to welcome the idol of Ganesha for two days, 30th and 31st August 2022. On 30th August prayers were offered to Lord Ganesha by presence of our respected Principal Ma’am, staff and students. The whole atmosphere reverberated with a feeling of devotion and divinity. Holy mantras were recited by our own Sanskrit teacher, Bhat sir.  Beautiful and soulful bhajans were rendered by the music  teacher, Soundarya.  This was followed by prasada distribution. The joy on the face of little ones was evident from their heartful smiles.

30th August was the day to bid goodbye to our beloved Lord Ganesha.  The ritual of visarjana was carried out in the evening. Ganesha was bid adieu with the chantings of ‘Ganapati BappaMorya’ with hopes that He continues to bless each one of us with prosperity, success and good fortune.
